Track Meet & Bear Challenge - April 24th!!

On Friday, April 24th we are having our annual Field Day. It will be from 8:00 - 10:30 a.m. Students should arrive to school wearing their PE shorts and will get their field day shirt from their 1st period teacher. Immediately following the track meet, we will have a school wide picnic. Students may purchase a box lunch from Chick-fil-A for $5 or may purchase a sack lunch from the cafeteria. Chick-fil-A lunches will be pre-sold only during lunches April 14-16.
A concession stand will also be provided for snacks and drinks during the afternoon Bear Challenge events. TCBY yogurt and other items will be sold. Students should pre-purchase a snack card for $5 during their lunch April 14-16 if they wish to buy anything from the concession stand.
We welcome parents to come out and support the kids, but due to space limitations, we suggest you bring a lawn chair.

2014-2015 Teacher & Paraprofessional of the Year

We would like to congratulate one of our Math teachers, Deana Lemen, for being selected as Teacher of the Year for BB6. Also, our school secretary, Diane Dillon, was chosen for ParaProfessional of the Year. Both of these ladies are amazing staff members and we are happy to recognize all of the hard work they have done this year and every year!! Both Diane and Deana will be honored at a district banquet next month. Congratulations!!

Yearbooks - $20

Yearbooks are still on sale and can be purchased from Mrs. Street in Room 136. If you would like to have a memory book from your 6th grade year, please buy one now. We cannot guarantee you will receive a yearbook if you wait until the last week or two of school. However, at this time, there are still some available for sale.

Bear Branch 6th Wins UIL Competition!

This past Saturday, our students competed in the UIL competition at Montgomery Middle School. They competed against other students from Magnolia, Montgomery and Huntsville school districts in a variety of events. For the 2nd year in a row, Bear Branch 6th Grade was the overall winner. UIL Competition at Montgomery Middle School

On March 28 many of our students will be competing in the UIL competition. Students should arrive at BB6 by 7:30 a.m. to board the bus. Estimated arrival time back will be 3:00 p.m. A concession stand will be available at Montgomery Middle School to purchase snacks and lunch items or students are welcome to bring their own. Permission slips went home today (Wednesday) with all UIL participants with more detailed information.

Band n' BBQ Fundraiser

BB6th Honor Band & All BBJH Bands will have a fundraiser on Friday, April 17. It will be in the BBJH Cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m. You can BUY your Presale dinner tickets now from the band directors. They will be on sale until April 6 for $10. LIMITED tickets at the door wll be $15. Dinner tickets include a chopped BBQ chopped sandwich, beans, green beans, potato salad and tea/lemonade.

Jr. High Visit

Our students took a mini field trip over to BBJH on March 3 to learn about next year's academic and elective class choices. They heard from several administrative staff members as well as elective teachers. Students are going home today with course handbooks and selection sheets for the 2015-2016 school year. These are due back on March 6 with all appropriate signatures.

MISD Phone System is Down

The MISD phone system is currently experiencing problems with inbound phone calls. If you have an emergency and need to get in contact with someone at a campus or district employee, please call the emergency number: 281-259-8383 and your message will be routed. The district can make outbound calls and email is working.
