I have invested 17 years in public education, 7 years in band directing and 10 years in educational leadership. I began my teaching career as a band director in Kosciusko, Mississippi, where I was the junior high band director and assisted with the high school program. I spent the next seven years working in school administration with the Starkville School District in Starkville, Mississippi where I was an assistant principal at the elementary and junior high campuses. My last three years have been with Magnolia ISD serving as the Assistant Principal for Nichols Sawmill Elementary.
My wife, Brittany, is an eighth grade English teacher at MJH. We have one son, Nic, who is a first grader at Bear Branch Elementary. We welcomed our second child, Molly Grace, in January of 2018. I love reading books on leadership and historical fiction. I enjoy playing bass guitar with the "Charlie Riley Band." I am a huge fan of college sports.
I am honored and humbled to work with GREAT people who have shown me what it takes to be a successful leader. What is so incredible about this position is that I get to work alongside educators who really showcase their strengths in preparing students for the next grade level. Learning how to leverage those strengths so that we can achieve our school's vision is what makes leadership worthwhile and engaging. I am excited about year four serving as the Assistant Principal with Bear Branch Intermediate School. One of my favorite sayings to teachers and students is "Let's go to work!"
